Therefore, customers should note that small quantities must be sent by pallet delivery. It's safe, but it requires paying for a ¼-weight pallet, which makes small replacements uneconomical.
Our split face tiles are supplied directly from our overseas group factory, reducing traditional distribution costs and keeping prices close to the source. Our pricing approach is based on reasonable margins rather than high mark-ups, supporting competitive pricing while maintaining consistent product quality and reliable supply.
Yes, many natural stone split face tiles are suitable for indoor and outdoor wall applications when installed correctly. For exterior use, the wall must be strong, stable and properly prepared, with a suitable exterior-grade flexible adhesive. The top and exposed edges should also be detailed to prevent water from penetrating behind the tiles, particularly in UK rain and frost conditions.
Split face tiles can be used in both outdoor and indoor applications. Externally, they are commonly installed on garden walls, exterior feature walls, façades and entrance areas where the substrate and wall construction are suitable.
Internally, they are suitable for living-room feature walls, hallways, kitchens, fireplace surrounds and selected bathroom feature walls. They are not normally recommended inside enclosed shower areas or other locations exposed to constant direct water because their uneven surface and close-jointed construction make waterproofing and cleaning more difficult.
For exterior split face tile installations, sealing is generally recommended. Outdoor natural stone is exposed to rain, frost, dirt, algae and regular weather changes, so a breathable natural stone sealer can help reduce water absorption and make the surface easier to maintain.
For interior use, sealing depends on the location. It is recommended in kitchens, bathroom feature areas, fireplace surrounds and other places exposed to moisture, staining or soot. In living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and other dry interior spaces, sealing is usually optional rather than essential.
Always test the sealer on a small area first. Choose a breathable natural stone sealer that maintains the natural appearance of the stone rather than leaving a dark, glossy or coated finish.
Split face tiles should be installed on a strong, stable, clean and suitable substrate capable of supporting the weight of natural stone. Common suitable surfaces include concrete, brickwork, blockwork, sound cement render and suitable cement-based tile backer boards. Weak plaster, loose render, painted surfaces and unsupported standard plasterboard should not be tiled directly without appropriate preparation or reinforcement.
